I’m finding it a little hard to believe that spring semester starts in just a week! While I’m not too happy to go back to class, I’m glad to get back to organizing with College Democrats across the state. This year is going to be exciting for Democrats in North Dakota; with the help of voters, activists, and volunteers like you, we can pick up even more seats in the North Dakota Legislature. Candidates like Karla Rose Hanson in Fargo’s District 44 are already gearing up their campaigns for victory!
What could we possibly be up to in January when the election is ten months away? Winning elections in North Dakota is a year-round effort; building the next generation of party leaders and training a strong volunteer team is crucial to victory in 2016. College Democrats have regular meetings at North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota. Members discuss today’s political issues, interact with elected officials and candidates, and learn important organizing and campaign skills.
Sound interesting to you? We’re happy to have you join us. My friends Lauren at NDSU and Sandi at UND are here to get you started. Send either a message at lauren.palmquist@ndsu.edu or sandra.kruse@und.edu to learn how to get involved on your campus! As always, stay tuned to College Democrats of North Dakota, NDSU College Democrats, and UND College Democrats on Facebook for the latest information.
Have a great semester!
