UNIVERSITY DEMOCRATS TO HOST FALL SUMMIT
(GRAND FORKS, ND – AUGUST 19) – University Democrats of North Dakota (UDND) announces their plans for the University Democrats Summit. The summit will be hosted by UDND-affiliated chapter NDSU University Democrats in Minard Hall. Spanning across the evening of September 12th into the morning of September 13th, students will have the opportunity to hear from elected officials, network with party leaders, and receive training from community organizers.
The summit events will kick off after registration at 5:30pm Friday with keynote speaker Ryan Taylor, a life-long North Dakota rancher running for Agriculture Commissioner. Summit attendees will also be addressed by Rachel McGovern, National Council Chair of College Democrats of America. On Saturday, students will be welcomed back at 8:00am by United States Senator Heidi Heitkamp. A complete schedule of events and speakers is attached. Following Saturday’s presentations, UDND will be offering breakout training sessions for its members and prospective chapters on organizational development, volunteer recruitment, and a variety of other topics.
The University Democrats Summit is the result of months of planning by a motivated team of students from universities across the state. The summit will provide UDND with an opportunity to celebrate its founding and develop new chapters across the state. UDND warmly invites students, Democratic candidates and elected officials, and the media to attend.
ABOUT UDND. University Democrats of North Dakota is a statewide partnership of young Democratic leaders at North Dakota’s institutions of higher education. UDND has active chapters at the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University with independent members developing new chapters across the state. UDND is focused on developing and electing young Democratic leaders, engaging students in government, and shaping the conversation on key student issues.
